Mage Epic Pieces

Quillmane in South Karana
Pegasus Feather Cloak
Quillmane has 1200-1500 hps, and hits for about 60. Easy kill, but hard for a mage because this mob is way overcamped and wanders. Quillimane seems to actually have placeholders as do most named mobs. The following are placeholders in Quillimanes spawn cycle: any named gnoll (ie Shaman Ren'rex, High Shaman Grisok, Phido, and Lenrel. DO NOT kill Brother Drash since he is NOT in the cycle. There are 3 spawn points for Quillmane: the 1st spawn point is just south of the hermit, 2nd spawn point is north of the shadow men, and 3rd spawn point is west of Paw. Quillmane starts roaming immediately after spawning. The easiest way to get Quillmane to spawn is by running between her spawn points and killing all named gnolls (this usually results in her spawning at the 1st spawn point and moving towards Paw.

This is a solo mob, but a tracker would be helpful.

Undertow in Kedge Keep
Blazing Wand
Giant Sea Horse, Lvl 49 (Cleric/Wizzy... there is a discrepancy on this from what I've seen), and has about 9000 hps. Loc in Temple is +250, -250. He has a placeholder (Estrella) and is on a 8 hour timer. This is a common drop.

1 group needed for this mob.

Phinny in Kedge Keep
Staff of Elemental Mastery: Water
4 swirlspine seahorses are his guards. They must be pulled first or will aggro. Phinny has about 16000 hps, hits for 198, casts Wizzy spells, and has a 12-14 hour spawn time. His location is +0, +100 (in the bottom half of the room). All the sources I've seen for this mob say you need 2-3 lvl 55+ groups, but AV has taken him down with 1 group.

1 group needed for this mob.

Neh'Ashiir in City of Mist
Torch of the Elements
Male Iksar ghost, lvl 53-54 Shammy or Chanter (contradictory opinions). Can spawn after any Black Reaver is killed in the upper house. Doesn't appear to be on a timer. This is a rare drop.
More info on this mob to come.

Raid needed.

Capt. Rottgrime in The Overthere
Tears of Erollisi
He is a lvl 55 skeleton warrior that can gate and summon. Capt. Rottgrime is surrounded by 6 or 8 skeletons, blue cons to lvl 51 toon. 2-3 monks needed to pull this to separate the goons guarding him. There is a rock golem (lvl 60) that needs to be pulled first. This golem has high MR and can't be cast on, so melee are greatly needed to kill it. Set up camp on the northwest wall, very near the outpost. Very few roamers, and no goons seem to come this way. VS faction will probably get trashed from doing this mob, unless you've already been to Howling Stones, in which case faction is already trashed. I've seen this mob killed several times, and he's a fairly easy kill.
1-2 groups needed for this mob.

Info for pullers:
Get into the outpost, and target Rottgrime. Stand as far back while still in shuriken range as possible. A great thing to have here is one of those nice snaring nets from Crystal Caverns. Have your lookout watch the golem on the far east side of the outpost, and when he is at his point closest to water, either cast snare net or chuck a shuriken at the captain, turn, and run like hell. If you happen to get stunned, use stone stance. Then, run outside the outpost, well outside the gates, and FD. The golems hit hard, but will never take more than a bubble or so, even with about 10 on your tail. Have your lookout/tagger run up to Rottgrim and start hailing him. 99% of the time this will stop him while everyone else walks back. Either /q to clear aggro or have a mage CoH you back, ( Note: rumor has it that lastest patch ended the loss of agro with CoH ) then run back up to Rottgrime or have a lookout pull him the rest of the way.

Small raid (2-3 groups) needed.

Magi P'tasa in Plane of Hate
Staff of Elemental Mastery: Earth
Magi is lvl 55, class unknown. He has 32,000 HP and hits for a max of 240. He is a rare spawn.

Here's some info from Matt Waggoner's site:
Magi, like all mini bosses, is a semi-rare spawn with a placeholder on a 72 hour timer +/- 12 hours (60-84 hour spawn). He spawns in 10 different spots:
2 in rev house
2 on top floor in maestro's house
2 with ashenbone drakes on first floor
2 in inny's old lair
2 on second floor of second floor church.
He is NOT always up after patches... but he has a very good chance of being up because he has about a 30% chance of spawning in 10 spots, but sometimes the spots could all be filled with phs (has happened before). He CAN be slowed, malosini'd and debuffed. He can be taken out with one full group if you are good and have a 60 shaman.

Drop rates are as follows:
30% chance of dropping the staff
30% chance of dropping apothic robe
40% chance of dropping apothic sleeves, pants, or crown
50% chance of dropping apothic bracer, gloves, or boots
(he is known to drop up to 3 armor pieces at a time)

Although a group can do this mob, a raid would probably be best.

random mobs on Island 7 in Plane of Air
Crown of Elemental Mastery
Clearing the 7th isle will typically net 0-3 crowns, but it's random. The mobs on the 7th isle range from 55-60 or so. The greater sphinxes will DEATHTOUCH every 45 seconds, so a major raid party is needed to even GET to the 7th isle, let alone clear it and get crowns. The crowns, however, are NOT NODROP.

Raid needed.
